Abstract China's rising economic growth in recent decades has challenged economic and military dominance of the United States in Asia and the world. In order to achieve the place of a superpower, China has put priority on extending its influence in regional organizations to secure its energy and preserve its national security. Central Asia as a strategic neighbor for China and a spearhead for fighting terrorism has become the battlefield of two great powers after 2001. This article tries to clarify both the hegemonic goals of the United States and the influence of China in Central Asian countries. This article applies explanatory-analytical methodology to explain US-China confrontation in Central Asia. According to research achievements of the article, the United States has been trying to achieve the following goals: a)      To confront economic influence of China in Central Asian countries and also its exploitation of the region's energy resources; b)      Strengthening its military bases especially in Chinese boarders, and surround this country strategically; To face China with some security issues through evoking and supporting some separatist movements and ethical solidarities in this country.

Abstract Nowadays, the role of each country in the world politics is influenced by geopolitical factors. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the geopolitical situation of the independent states including Azerbaijan changed and due to instability, geographic position and energy resources, this country turned to be the scene of rivalry among regional and trans-regional powers. The Islamic Republic of Iran with common historical links and neighborhood with Azerbaijan, should consider the security trends around this country because the stability of Azerbaijan is highly important for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Abstract Energy resources in the world are very important for all the countries and governments around the world, which makes a strong motivation for government to increase their activities for developing their energy reserves. Either producer countries or consumers pay attention to this important matter. Economic growth and development of have been always one of the mottos of governments and has played a prominent role in different stage of development.   Caspian oil and gas is an important regional and international issue in recent decades so we cannot ignore the presence of oil companies and their effect in this region. Geopolitical situation of Iran and its huge energy resources provides opportunities to improve its national interest. Accordingly the question is weather Caspian oil and gas resources can affect Iranian national interest?   In this paper author has attempt to review the prospect of development of oil and gas in Caspian Sea from the Iranian government viewpoint and its effects on Iran's national interest
