Collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, economic weakness of the Russians in controlling the situations, and open, pro-Atlantic political atmosphere of Gorbachev and Yeltsin periods provoked a strong presence of regional as well as transregional actors so as to exploit energy of these regions. Investments made by such actors in extracting oil and gas and constructing pipelines for energy transit lessened the Russian monopoly and caused geopolitical changes in these regions. This article attempts to describe the effects of construction of energy transit pipelines on the geopolitics of these regions after collapse of the Soviet Union. The assumption goes that construction of energy transit pipelines by regional and transregional actors has not solely pursued economic benefits and has resulted in further political and security intervention of such actors in the geopolitics of Central Asia and Caucasus. This has, in turn, reduced the level of Russian monopoly in energy field and political and security issues of these regions. قبل از فروپاشیاتحاد جماهیر شوروی، خطوط لوله انرژی منطقه آسیای مرکزی و قفقاز در انحصار روس‌ها قرار داشت و ژئوپلیتیک این منطقه تنها شاهد حضور یک قدرت منطقه‌ای(روس‌ها) بود. فروپاشی اتحاد جماهیر شوروی در سال 1991، استقلال هر یک از کشورهای آسیای مرکزی و قفقاز، ضعف اقتصادی روس‌ها در کنترل اینوضعیت و سیاست فضای باز و آتلانتیک‌گرایانه دوران گورباچف و یلتسین باعث حضور بازیگران منطقه‌ای و فرامنطقه‌ای به بهانه بهره‌‌برداری از انرژی این منطقه گردید. سرمایه‌گذاری این بازیگران در اکتشاف و استخراج نفت و گاز و همچنین احداث خطوط لوله برای انتقال انرژی این منطقه از انحصارگرایی روسیه کاسته و تغییرات ژئوپلیتیک را در این منطقه به وجود آورده است. در واقع، هدف این نوشتار بر این است که نشان دهد احداث خطوط لوله انتقال انرژی بعد از فروپاشی اتحاد جماهیر شوروی چه تاثیری بر ژئوپلیتیک این منطقه داشته است؟ فرض بر این است که احداث خطوط لوله انرژی توسط بازیگران منطقه‌ای و فرامنطقه‌ای صرفاً هدف اقتصادی نداشته، بلکه باعث دخالت و نفوذ سیاسی و امنیتی هر چه بیشتر این بازیگران در ژئوپلیتیک منطقه آسیای مرکزی و قفقاز گردیده است که این امر به نوبه خود از میزان نفوذ انحصاری روسیه در حوزه انرژی و مسائل سیاسی و امنیتی این منطقه کاسته است.
