The understanding of the concept of a buffer has been developed throughout history and due to the systematization of relations between different countries and the emergence of the international system. This article is a new expression of the growing development of its concepts and functions in this particular field. In this article, an attempt has been made to first present a general picture of the concept of the buffer space based on the study, understanding and perception of researchers, which is mostly a matter of consensus, and then to present new concepts and perceptions of the buffer space, which are mainly affected by the developments that have occurred during the current century. In the second image, geography has lost its concept, its function is beyond geographical boundaries, with a nature separate from national governments, and its purpose is independent narrating of the phenomenon. <strong>فضای حائل، چگونگی شکل­گیری، بقای این فضا و نقش آن در تنظیم معادله قدرت بین کشورهای مختلف از مباحث قابل‌توجهی است که به‌ویژه از اواخر قرن 19 به صورتی مشخص و چارچوب</strong><strong>­</strong><strong>مند وارد ادبیات سیاسی گردید. اصولاً برداشت از مفهوم حائل در طول تاریخ و به فراخور نظام‌مند شدن مناسبات بین کشورهای مختلف و پدید آمدن نظام بین‌الملل، توسعه یافته است. این مقاله در واقع بیانی جدید از همین توسعه رو به رشد مفاهیم و کارکردهای آن در این حوزه خاص است. در این مقاله تلاش شده تا ابتدا تصویری کلی از مفهوم فضای حائل بر اساس مطالعه، درک و برداشت محققین که عمدتاً مورد اجماع نیز است، ارائه و در ادامه مفاهیم و برداشت‌های جدید از فضای حائل که عمدتاً متأثر از تحولاتی است که طی قرن حاضر به وقوع پیوسته، عرضه شود. این فهم جدیدی از فضای حائل در دو تصویر جداگانه و با مختصاتی متفاوت خواهد بود. در یک تصویر جغرافیا به‌عنوان پایه اصلی کماکان موقعیت خود را با کارکردی متفاوت حفظ خواهد کرد. در تصویر دوم جغرافیا مفهوم خود را ازدست‌داده، کارکرد آن ورای مرزهای جغرافیایی، با ماهیتی جدا از حاکمیت‌های ملی بوده و هدف آن روایت سازی مستقل  از پدیده است.</strong> https://ca.ipisjournals.ir/article_711130_d0e959b24b92627ab49eca8454d684e3.pdf
